Regional Fellow Meeting Berlin
The Foundation had its 17th Regional Fellow Meeting for the German and Scandinavian region in Berlin on November 18, 2008 at Harnack House, the headquarters of the Max-Planck Society in Germany.
Alumni Fellows explained to attendants through the medium of poster presentations on what they were currently working on. Later the same evening followed the 2nd in the series of Canon Invited Lectures where Professor Horst Albach gave a lively lecture on Intercultural Dialogue between Germany and Japan (click here to download a PDF-file of the speech in German or here if you would like to receive an audio stream of the lecture). The lecture was arranged with support from the Japanese-German Center Berlin.

Mr. Oscar Martinez Mozos (left) from Freiburg University, Germany visited the Dept. of Intelligent Systems at Kyushu University, with Prof. Tsutomu Hasegawa as his host. Computer Sciences: Integration of Local and Global Information for Intelligent Robots in the Robot Town Project.
Mr. Tilo Wagner (right) from Bonn University, Germany visited the Dept. of Political Science at Keio University, Tokyo with Prof. Toshiro Tanaka as his host. Politics & International Relations: The build up of strategic EU-Japan political co-operation (1991-2006); An interim review.
Following the event, the Canon Foundation hosted a reception at the Wintergarten of the Harnack House.
